How long does a food photography sessions take
Food photography sessions vary in length depending on what we're shooting. A simple product or menu shoot can be wrapped up in a few hours. More complex food shoots can take a full day or more. Think multiple dishes, styled setups, or a full menu. I always try to make sure we take the time we need to get every shot right.
Why do my food photos look so good?
Good food photography starts with light. I like using contrast to bring out color and depth. That can be the deep orange of a carrot or the beautiful brown fish from the oven. How a dish is styled can completely changes the story it tells. I think carefully about every element in the frame because the smallest things often make the biggest difference.
Food photography in general can't be rushed. The smoke rising from a hot pan, the shine of a slow-cooked dish, these are very unpredictable things. Getting them right takes patience. A photo that truly captures how delicious something looks? That's always worth the wait.
